FGIS
FGIS, Forestry GIS, from the University of Wisconsin is a very flexible program that allows manipulation of existing shapefiles through a query builder. The advantage of FGIS is that after reselecting a shapefile the resulting selection can be saved as a new shape file. That new shapefile can be loaded and then exported as an image.
